Where is one who is not thirsty in this wilderness journey?
We are thirsty for love, thirsty for affirmation,
Thirsty for knowledge, thirsty for connection, and . . .
We walk to the well to draw water every day.

Who is thirsty by the deep well?
The one without or with a bucket to draw,
In the desert, under the noontime sun?
“Will you give me a drink?” He asks.
“Sir, give me this water,” she replies.

Where is one who is not thirsty in this journey of life?
We have Jacob’s well, but we still thirst.
Though I drink from the well, I have lost many husbands.
Where is the water which will keep me from thirst?

Where is your deep heart?
We must find the well in our deep hearts.
The water we desire must spring from there.
When you find the gift of God that I show you,
You will drink the water which will keep you from thirst.
