In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, (1)
the Word was, the Logos was with God and ὁ λόγοϛ was God. (2)
All things were made through the Word, and
nothing that has been made was made without the Word. (3)
“Let there be light,” God said, and there was light. (4)
The light was coming and living into the dark world,
the true light which enlightens every being. (5)
In the light was life, and that life was the light of all beings. (6)
The true light that gives life to every being
is coming into the dark world. (7)
The light shines in the darkness of being, (8)
but all beings have not understood it for the darkness is so very deep. (9)
But the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only,
who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (10)
We are witnesses of this mystery of Jesus.
We experienced the Word, the light, the life for all beings,
in Jesus from Galilee; we witnessed the Word become human life,
the image of God in a person realized through flesh.
The Word, the Logos, the Light and the Life is coming to us.
The Creator God still creates new creations in the Logos, the Word. (11)
