Trust in God; trust in me as well;
do not let your hearts be troubled in this world.
I go to prepare a place for you
in the spacious house of my Father. (1)
“Lord, we are unsure of where you are going,
so how can we know the way?” (2)
Because I am the way and the truth and the life.
You come to the heavenly One through me. (3)
If you really get to know me,
you will see the way to my Father’s house. (4)
Even though the way is narrow, (5)
you can walk along the path with me.
If you hear my voice,
you will know the truth God gives you. (6)
Your soul will be freed by the truth for the Holy One. (7)
You will leave the old for the new. (8)
With me, you will drink the living water,
if your well connects to my heart.
You will be peaceful in the life from heaven.
So why, though you are with me, do you still ask the way?
