Statement of Ministry

I experienced God’s calling through Isaiah’s proclamation: “I have called you in righteousness; … to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release those who sit in darkness” (Isaiah 42:6-7). I accepted this message as the calling of the Lord into ministry. I have been following the voice that Jesus heard from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased” (Mark 1:11). The Spirit of Jesus is driving my ministry and my life.

  1. My ministry prepares and performs a worship service concentrated on Jesus Christ and his Gospel. This is most important for the spirituality of the church community. People are invited to the worship service to become Christians and people of the kingdom of God. Therefore, I will do my best to provide Spiritual Oxygen - that is Jesus’ Spirit, his heart, his mind and teaching - in all worship services.
  2. My preaching focuses on Jesus and his Gospel. The sermons call forth the spirituality of the congregation so that they seek Jesus, understand him, and receive him. The sermons also increase the congregation's desire to read the Bible and meet Jesus. Finally, they can find themselves standing before God through the sermons and are helped to see God in Jesus.
  3. My ministry emphasizes reading the Bible and offers spiritual training to the church community. This helps the congregation to be grasped by Jesus and to work with him at any place and any time. They can feel his heart, understand his mind, recognize and receive him as their Lord through an emphatic reading of the Bible.
  4. My ministry helps the church community serve the local community. This helps the church community as the body of Jesus to serve the world by following Jesus’ commandments: “You are the salt of the earth,” “You are the light of the world,” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Of first importance in community service is that the church invites neighbors and helps them to listen to the Gospel of Jesus. In this point, my ministry follows Jesus’ command: “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 22:19-20).
  5. In my ministry, pastoral and hospital care are important parts. All people have some problems in their lives. Spiritual and psychological problems can especially bring a negative influence to a person's life. These need professional help, and my pastoral ministry is ready to approach such problems.

My ministry has followed the ministry of Jesus for thirty years and has been through the Holy Spirit ever since I was called to the ministry. I always open my heart and mind to the future of my ministry because I believe “a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps” (Proverbs 16:9). Therefore, I always try to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
