Come to The Spiritual Academy!
The Spiritual Academy is for everyone with questions about life.
Christians can build a strong structure of Christian spirituality.
Everyone can find their answers for their life.
But can I really find answers at St. Mark's United Methodist Church?
Few people look to a church for answers any more. Church membership has been declining since the 1960s. Now people who left church during the pandemic are not returning. We, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, recognize that what most churches have lost is Christian Vocational Spirituality.
We invite you to explore Christian Vocational Spirituality with us.
What is Christian Vocational Spirituality?
Christian Vocational Spirituality is best explained through a doctoral dissertation by Rev. Yong Sub Sim. If you are interested in exploring this, we invite you to begin by reading the introduction to his dissertation. It is available in both English and Korean.
The introduction to "The Theological Structure for Forming Christian Vocational Spirituality: A Practical Method for the Whole of Christian Life in the Church Community," a DMin Dissertation by Yong Sub Sim presented to the Faculty of the Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University. January 2022.
For our Korean friends, within St. Mark's Korean Church and without, who may be more comfortable reading in the Korean language, here is Rev. Sim's translation of the introduction to his dissertation.
Rev. Sim's full dissertation is also available on Amazon: Forming Christian Vocational Spirituality by Yong Sub Sim.
